Validating encrypted files

Attacher.validate stops working when the file is encrypted. Is it possible to validate an encrypted file with the validation plugins, or is it better to validate before passing the file off to Shrine?

hi @decapitation

would it be possible to generate a minimum sample replicating the issue: https://github.com/shrinerb/shrine/blob/master/SELF_CONTAINED_EXAMPLE.md

otherwise it’s very hard for me to answer – i’m not a shrine expert so certain things would not be immediately obvious without an example by which debugging can systematically take place.

thanks so much for offering to help! however, i figured it out: https://shrinerb.com/docs/plugins/determine_mime_type#api

since i want to determine the mime type before passing the file off to anything else, i simply do Shrine.mime_type(io)
